As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and to ensure the safety and well-being of county residents and staff, La Crosse County remains open for business but will continue to suspend walk-in services until further notice.
On Thursday, March 19, La Crosse County temporarily suspended walk-services, except for emergency and 24/7 operations, providing all services electronically and by phone.
All customers are asked to go to the La Crosse County Website at: https://lacrossecounty.org/ for departmental contacts. If customers do not have access to the internet, they can contact the County Clerk at 608-785-9581 and the call will be directed to the appropriate department.
The following is a short description of access for each building.
Administrative Center: Closed to in-person appointments except for marriage licenses. Please call for an appointment.
Courthouse and Law Enforcement Center: The Courthouse remains open for court business. The Law Enforcement Center will allow visits Monday-Friday from 9:00 am-5:00pm for those who are incarcerated.
Health and Human Services Building: Closed to the public.
Highway Department: Limited access of public.
Libraries: Closed to the public.
Nursing Homes and Long-Term Care: Closed to the public.
Solid Waste and Household Hazardous Materials: The landfill remains open for business, but Household Hazardous Materials will be closed until further notice.
