The Wisconsin Apartment Association (WAA) conducted its 21st Annual Legislative Day, in partnership with the Apartment Association of Southeastern Wisconsin (AASEW). The day was conducted virtually on Wednesday, February 10.
WAA Presents Awards
As it has in years when it met in the State Capitol, the WAA heard from legislators, government leaders and rental housing industry leaders about the upcoming state budget and emerging legislative issues. WAA ended its program by recognizing individuals and organizations that contributed to the success of rental housing industry during 2020 – a year everyone recognizes presented special health and financial challenges.
“We are all especially grateful for the leadership and public service of these award recipients,” said Gary Goyke, Legislative Representative for the WAA. “Their dedication helped save Wisconsin lives, prevented evictions and reduced the spread of COVID 19. We salute their efforts.
“Our members will work closely with all state and local agencies to make the next round of emergency rental assistance an effective initiative to assist our tenants as we all work to control the spread of the virus and end the pandemic,” according to Corina Eufeinger, WAA president and Mike Cottrell, present of AASEW.

Outstanding Service to the Rental Industry Award: Jim Bestul Jr., Janesville Area Rental Property Assoc. Presented by State Rep. Don Vruwink, Milton
Public Service Award: City of La Crosse/La Crosse County-response to COVID-19 Award accepted by Monica Kruse, Steve O’Malley and Jane Klekamp of La Crosse County and Caroline Gregerson of the City of La Crosse Presented by Senator Brad Pfaff, WAA Past President Pamela Strittmater, & WAA Director Jeffrey Pralle
Outstanding Partnership Award: WISCAP – Executive Director Brad Paul accepting Presented by DOA Secretary Joel Brennan & Jami Kuhn, Director of Outreach for Governor Evers
