Six new members of the La Crosse County Board took their seats on April 19, while Supervisor Monica Kruse was elected to a second term as board chair.
The new 30-member La Crosse County Board of Supervisors met for the first time on Tuesday, April 19. Supervisor Monica Kruse was elected by the board to a second term as board chair, while Supervisor Kim Cable was elected first vice chair and Supervisor Randy Erickson was elected second vice chair.
Taking their seats for their inaugural meeting were newly elected supervisors Ken Schlimgen, Mike Baroni, Dennis Jacobsen, Dillon Mader, Rob Abraham and David Pierce (pictured left to right above).
The size of the board has increased from 29 to 30 members following the redistricting process, which occurs once a decade after the federal census.
"This is a night where we really refocus from campaign mode to doing the people's business," Judge Scott Horne, who swore-in the new board, said at the meeting. "It's a tremendous honor and also a challenge that's been bestowed on everyone in terms of living up to the faith and trust of the people."
