Grants of up to $10,000 available for community events/festivals impacted by COVID-19.
La Crosse County is accepting applications for a new program that will distribute grants of up to $10,000 to support community events and festivals.
The grant program is open to nonprofit organizations in La Crosse County that manage community events negatively impacted by COVID-19. The goal is to ensure those events remain strong and sustainable.
“This funding will support local organizations that add to the vibrancy of our community,” said County Board Chair Monica Kruse. “We want to make sure those organizations and the events they support emerge from the pandemic stronger than ever.”
The program has $90,000 to distribute and the deadline for applications is Jan. 31, 2023. To view and complete the application form, click this link (or go to bit.ly/countyeventgrants). Questions about the program can be directed to [email protected].
The La Crosse County Board’s Executive Committee will rank applicants and pick the most deserving grantees. Funding for the program comes from the county’s federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) allocation. Other county projects funded with ARPA dollars include $2 million for rural stormwater infrastructure grants, $5 million for a new community-based facility at Hillview Healthcare Center, and $2 million for housing redevelopment grants.
