Community News & Event Announcements:

-Irishfest! Veterans may purchase two reduced-rate IrishFest tickets for one-day admission from the La Crosse County Veteran Service Office. Tickets are $5 each (normal price is $15 if bought before Aug 8th or $20 at the gate). Two ticket maximum per veteran. Cash only (there is an ATM in the lobby). Individuals must present proof of veteran status, such as the veteran identifier on a WI driver license, or VA Veteran Health ID Card. Tickets may be purchased in person at 300 4th St N, La Crosse, WI, from Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm. We have a limited amount so the tickets are first come, first served.

-La Crosse County Veterans Service Commission meets on July 21st, 2025. The Commission's purpose is to provide emergency assistance to needy veterans and to the family members or recently deceased veterans who reside in La Crosse County. Application and supporting documents are due on July 16th, 2025. Applications may be picked up from the La Crosse County Veteran Service Office at 300 4th Street N, La Crosse, WI. 

-The La Crosse Loggers are having their annual Military Appreciation Night on Thursday, July 3rd, 2025, starting at 6:35pm. All active military and veterans get in FREE with Military ID!

-Tomah VA Medical Center is hosting a Women Veterans Event on July 18, 2025, at 11:00am, at the Tomah VA Medical Center. Please RSVP by July 3rd to 608-372-3971. Join for a Keynote Speaker, stay for lunch, and a tour of the Tomah VA campus. 

-Men’s Shed meets on July 22, 2025, 1:30-2:30pm, at the Tomah Senior Center. The topic is beekeeping and honey. Free lunch from 12:30-1:15pm. Call ADRC of La Crosse County by July 15th to reserve lunch.

-Homeless Connect will be held on July 24, 2025, 11:00am-3:00pm, at English Lutheran Church, 1509 King Street, La Crosse, WI. Homeless Connect is for anyone struggling to find housing or currently unsheltered. 

-Join us at the Onalaska Community Days at the Onalaska American Legion on Saturday, August 2nd starting at 10am! This fun-filled family event features food, music, and vendors all to raise money for local organizations.

-The Milwaukee Brewers are giving 2 free Terrace Level tickets to any active-duty military member of veteran on their Military Sundays for the 2025 season. Must show military/veteran ID at the ticket office prior to any Sunday home game. This offer is only available on the day of the game when the ticket office opens at 10am and is subject to availability. - Interested in getting a family membership at the YMCA? Sign up for Wellness Warriors (not an exercise class) at the Dahl Family YMCA! If you are interested in signing up for the next session, contact Anna Stindt at [email protected]

-Did you know Habitat for Humanity of the Greater La Crosse Region offers assistance on home repairs for veterans?  Repair Corps funding is a partnership between Habitat for Humanity International and Home Depot. Local Habitats are able to request these funds on a first-come, first-serve basis. Projects can provide repair work up to $18,000 in granted funding to make necessary repairs on homes owned by veterans. There are no income restrictions for eligibility. The current funding allocation must be used by Sept 30th, 2025. Please contact Lauren at [email protected] or call 608-785-2373 if interested.
