Community Office Hours allows Veterans to access the services our office provides at different locations throughout the county! No appointments needed at Community Office Hours. Community News & Event Announcements:
-WI Fishing License for Disabled Veterans Discount. Wisconsin residents who receive disability benefits may be eligible for a discount for their annual fishing license. The veteran must present proof they are receiving disability benefits at the sales location at the time of purchase.
-Join the Tomah VA Medical Center for two local VA Enrollment Fairs! Get assistance with enrollment and leave with a scheduled appointment at the VA. There will be two events in La Crosse County: Monday, June 22, 2026, from 11am-3pm at the Onalaska America Legion and Tuesday, June 30th, 2026, from 11am-3pm at the La Crosse Vet Center. -La Crosse Loggers Military Appreciation Night, United States’ 250th Birthday & fireworks extravaganza is Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 6:35pm. All veterans and active duty military receive a free bleacher back ticket to the game. Show Military ID at the ticket office or ticket window to claim ticket. Tickets subject to availability.
-La Crosse Riverfest will be hosting a Senior & Military Breakfast on Thursday, July 2nd, 2026, from 8-10am at the Pepsi Community Tent at Riverside Park. Veteran Buttons will be available for pick up in our main office soon.
-The Milwaukee County Zoo is hosting their annual Military and Veterans Family Day on Saturday, July 5, 2026, from 9:30am-5pm. Tickets are available at your local County Veteran Service Office. More information here: Milwaukee County Zoo Military & Veterans Family Day

-#VITOSTRONG is hosting their 3rd annual Veteran Memorial Golf Outing on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Fox Hollow Golf Course. Team Check-in starts at 7:45am. -The Tomah VA is starting a new group for Post 9/11 military to support readjustment and foster connections with fellow service members! The group alternates between Tomah VA Medical Center and La Crosse VA Clinic every Wednesday from 5-6pm. - Hero's Cafe is held at the Village Festival Foods on the 2nd floor every Friday from 8am-10am. Veterans are free to attend and meet with other veterans over coffee and donuts!
-Meet with the Vietnam Era Veterans Group for coffee and conversation on Wednesdays from 10-11am at the Onalaska Legion.
-Meet with the Women Veterans Group for lunch (pay for your own) on the 1st Wednesday of each month at the Onalaska Legion from noon-1pm.
-Meet for the Coed Veterans Lunch (pay for your own) on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at the Onalaska Legion from noon-1pm.
