Women veterans invited to join “I Am Not Invisible” photo shoot.
Women Veterans are encouraged to participate in the upcoming I Am Not Invisible (IANI) Women Veterans photo shoot, being organized by La Crosse County and Western Technical College. The event aims to celebrate and amplify the visibility of women who have served in the military.
The photo sessions will take place at the Coleman Center, Western Technical College, located at 617 Vine Street, La Crosse, on the following dates and times:
Monday, February 12th, 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Tuesday, February 13th, 1:15 PM to 5:00 PM
Registration Details:
Participants can book a 15-minute photo session online at https://bit.ly/IANI-Wisconsin. Slots are limited, so early registration is advised. Attendees are asked to wear solid colors or their military uniforms (white clothing is discouraged). Memorabilia is welcome for inclusion in the portraits. Parking passes for the campus will be emailed to registrants in advance.
Oral History Opportunity: The Wisconsin Veterans Museum will be on-site during the event to schedule interviews for the I Am Not Invisible Oral History Project. This initiative provides women Veterans a chance to share their personal stories, which will be preserved as part of the museum’s archival collection.
Adding to the Legacy:
Photographs from the sessions will be included in the IANI collection at the Wisconsin Veterans Museum. This ongoing project celebrates the diversity, strength, and unique experiences of women Veterans. The existing collection can be viewed at https://wisvetsmuseum.com/learning-research/oral-history/featured-interviews/i-am-not-invisible/.
About the IANI Project:
The I Am Not Invisible campaign, launched in 2017, seeks to address the underrepresentation of women Veterans in public awareness. By sharing their images and stories, the project fosters greater understanding and appreciation of the contributions and sacrifices of women who have served in the military.
This event is a significant opportunity for women Veterans to have their voices and experiences recognized. Don’t miss this chance to be part of a powerful movement celebrating women in the armed forces.
