The Facilities Department is responsible for the operations, maintenance and cleaning of the:

  • County Administrative Center
  • Courthouse and Law Enforcement Center
  • Health & Human Services Building
  • Goose Island Park/Campground
  • Veterans Memorial Park/Campground
  • Neshonoc-Swarthout Park
  • Neshonoc South Park

All other County Property that is not supervised by another Department.

Special projects include supervision of capital improvements including new construction to the County's facilities. The department maintains 10+ miles of cross-county ski trails and does all of the snow removal for the downtown campus parking lots and park areas.

Parks

  • To provide parks, campgrounds and other outdoor areas and facilities that will afford an opportunity for the public to enjoy a quality experience in the out-of-doors.
  • To serve the County as an advocate of the environment and a protector of our natural resources.

Buildings & Grounds

  • To assure that County government has clean, well-maintained facilities which meet public expectations while also encouraging a positive work environment for employees.
  • To serve as a resource to all County Departments in matters involving capital improvements and maintenance.

Property Management

  • To represent the County in all matters of real estate and serve as protector and keeper of all County lands unassigned to other departments.
  • To oversee and coordinate the leasing of surplus County property assuring that such activities are in the best interests of the County.

To perform these functions in as efficient and cost effective manner as possible.
