Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS)Upon employmentParticipation in WRS is automatic for employees working more than 1200 hours/year. Employee contributes a percentage of gross wages which is matched by the County. Plan includes disability and death benefits.Employee and employer shares are established by WRS annually. The rate for 2024 is 6.9% of the employee's gross wages. WRS is one of the top 10 retirement plans in the U.S. 
 
Deferred CompensationUpon employmentEligible employees can supplement retirement benefits by saving and investing traditional before-tax dollars as 457(b) elective contributions.
