There is a faster and easier way to record your land record documents.

The La Crosse County Register of Deeds has real estate copies of documents recorded or filed for property located in La Crosse County only. If you need copies of documents for property located outside of La Crosse County, please contact the county where the property is located.

Subdivision, condominium, cemetery, transportation project plats are filed with this office. Here are guidelines for filing these documents.

The e-RETR is an electronic way for people to file their transfer return straight to the Wisconsin Department of Revenue.  Filing electronically became mandatory on July 1, 2009.  It is easy to do and as soon as the electronically filed RETR is recorded by the county register of deeds, the data is immediately available to county officials, assessors, and the Wisconsin Department of Revenue.  For more information on how to access the eRETR click the link below.
