Timber Cut Notice

Prior to cutting timber or other forest products, a Timber Cut Notice needs to be filed in the County Clerk's office. The filing fee is $10.00 and may be cash or a check. A Timber Cut Notice must be completed and submitted with the filing fee by mail or in person, prior to the onset of the logging activity.

Logging Road Permit

A logging road permit along with a map showing where the roads will be constructed is required when land disturbance will occur. The cost of this permit is $150. Complete and submit the appropriate section of the permit application, include a map and a check in the amount of $160.00 ($10.00 timber cut notice and $150 logging road permit) to the La Crosse County Clerk's office. If approved, a logging road permit will be issued by the Land Conservation Department.
