Spongy Moth Aerial Spray
The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) uses aerial spraying every spring and summer, mainly in western Wisconsin, to slow the spread of spongy moth. DATCP sprays to kill spongy moth caterpillars in May and early June. In late June and July, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service applies mating disruptors by spraying via a plane to prevent the adult moths from mating. More information including maps of locations can be found at datcp.wi.gov.
Land Disturbance activities may require an Erosion Control or Stormwater permit.
More information is available by clicking the Erosion Control/Stormwater tab.
The La Crosse County Land Conservation Department develops strategies, implements programs, and provides technical assistance to protect and enhance the soil and water resources of the county.
This department reports to the Planning, Resources and Development Committee.
