Early intervention and prevention programs (La Crosse Area Family Collaborative and System of Care), Youth Justice Services, regional Secure Detention and Shelter facilities (Western Regional Adolescent Services) and adult criminal justice programs encompass the Justice Support Services section.
Adults are provided screening, assessment, and case management. Case management may include testing for drugs and alcohol, cognitive-behavioral therapy groups, gender-specific programming, GPS monitoring, employment services, and other services as determined by a validated risk and needs assessment.
Youth involved with the youth justice system are served under the guidelines and mandates of the Juvenile Justice Code, Chapter 938. Justice Support Services recognizes youth justice includes an obligation to protect the community through expectations of accountability for violations of the law while providing services and interventions to assist youth in developing competencies to live responsibly and productively.
