Mandatory DNA Submissions

As of April 1, 2015, the law regarding DNA submissions has changed. According to Wis. Stat. §165.76, any person charged with certain felonies will be required to submit to a DNA test while detained in the La Crosse County Jail. Anyone who commits and is convicted (found guilty) of any felony or misdemeanor after this date will be required to submit a DNA sample at the Sheriff's Office immediately after the conviction in court or, in certain cases, upon appointment by calling 608-785-3447.
