Permits

A permit is required to use the landfill site and the Xcel waste-to-energy site for municipal or demolition waste. Diversion materials do not require a permit. Each vehicle that uses the site must have a separate permit. To obtain a permit, a driver’s license or other identification may be required in order to set up an account. 

Annual Permit

$300.00 per vehicle. If a permit is purchased later than the first of the year the amount decreases by $25.00 each month. This permit allows the user to make as many trips to the landfill cell as desired, while only paying the landfill tipping fee.  A window decal sticker is provided and must be displayed on the vehicle.

3-Day Permit

$25.00 per vehicle for 3 consecutive business days. If a business does not wish to purchase an annual permit, they have the option to purchase a temporary 3-day permit. This permit allows the user to make as many trips to the landfill cell as desired during that three-day period, while only paying the landfill tipping fee.

Single use permit

$15.00 per vehicle. Businesses may also use the single use permit. This permit allows the user to make one trip to the landfill cell, and paying the landfill tipping fee.

 

Utilization of the facility requires adherence to County Ordinance Chapter 15 and applicable Policies: La Crosse County Ordinances
