Solid Waste

Residential Drop Off Area

The residential drop-off area is open to La Crosse County residents as well as surrounding counties (Houston, Monroe, Trempealeau, Vernon, Winona, etc.).  The landfill entrance is equipped with inbound and outbound scales – all landfill customers must scale in and out. Only people authorized by scale attendants after scaling in may utilize the landfill facility. You must provide your own labor for unloading materials. Due to safety concerns, we do not permit salvaging once waste is placed into containers.

The residential drop-off area is designed with safety and ease of use in mind. We have a series of yellow containers for regular household waste, furniture and light demolition materials and a metal container for recycling. A set of purple containers is also available for mattress/box spring recycling and special areas for other recycling materials.

For missed pickups of trash or recycling, please call your waste hauler or municipality.

Utilization of the facility requires adherence to County Ordinance Chapter 15 and applicable Policies.

For a list of the county ordinances and policies for Chapter 15 visit: La Crosse County Ordinances

All materials/items dropped off will have a fee. List of our prices
