Who We Are

The Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of La Crosse County is a Section of the La Crosse County Human Services Department , authorized under Wisconsin Statute §46.283 and subject to the requirements contained in Chapter DHS 10 of the Wisconsin Administrative Code.

Our mission is:

To provide older adults and people with disabilities or intellectual disabilities the resources needed to live with dignity and security and achieve maximum independence and quality of life. The goal of the ADRC is to empower individuals to make informed choices and to streamline access to the right and appropriate services and supports.

The ADRC of La Crosse County is a central source of reliable and objective information about a broad range of programs and services. We help people understand and evaluate the various options available to them. By enabling people to find resources in our community and make informed decisions about long-term care, we help to conserve personal resources, maintain self-sufficiency, and delay or prevent the need for potentially expensive long-term care. We also serve as the single access point for publicly funded long-term care programs which includes Family Care and IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct).

The ADRC of La Crosse County is available to older adults and people with disabilities regardless of income and the person’s eligibility for publicly funded long-term care. We are also available to families, friends, caregivers, and others who work with or care about older adults or people with disabilities.
