Tobacco Prevention and Control Coalition

7Cs

7 C’s Health Initiative

The 7 C’s Health Initiative is a tobacco prevention coalition from seven Wisconsin Counties: La Crosse, Buffalo, Trempealeau, Jackson, Monroe, Vernon, and Crawford.

All of our work is done through a health equity lens. We work to achieve the following vision and mission:

Vision
Empowered communities living tobacco free

Mission
Collaboratively work to improve the health of our citizens living in the counties of La Crosse, Buffalo, Jackson, Monroe, Trempealeau, Vernon, and Crawford so that they may live long, healthy lives, free from tobacco and nicotine regardless of their income, education or ethnic background.

The coalition is funded by the Wisconsin Tobacco Prevention and Control Program

What We Do

Decrease youth access and initiationFACT

  • We conduct tobacco compliance checks, provide retailer education and training, connect with the media, and educate the community through the WI Wins program
  • We work with schools to assess and improve their tobacco-free policies
  • We promote FACT, Wisconsin's youth-led tobacco prevention and control program
  • We educate parents, youth leaders, students, and other community members about tobacco-related topics through events and presentations

Increase cessation services

  • We strive to increase opportunities to quit tobacco and nicotine use
  • We promote the Wisconsin Tobacco Quit Line and other quit tobacco resources:

Increase Smoke-free air

  • We promote and support smoke-free and vape-free environments including:
    • Workplaces
    • Beaches and parks
    • College campuses
    • Schools
    • Sidewalks
    • Sports fields and facilities
    • We educate local and state leaders about smoke-free air policies as well as other ways to lessen the harms of tobacco on our citizens

Community connectedness and engagement is important to us. If you're interested in joining our coalition or receiving our quarterly newsletter, email us at [email protected]
