We license and inspect public indoor and outdoor swimming pools and water attractions to keep you safe and healthy.

How to get your public pool licensed

To apply for a license for a new pool or when there is a change of ownership:

Step 1:  Complete a Permit License Application and submit that along with the appropriate fees to the La Crosse County Health Department.

Step 2:  Contact La Crosse County Environmental Health at 608-785-9771 or by email [email protected] to schedule a pre-licensing inspection.

Step 3:  Once the application is submitted, fees are paid, and pre-licensing inspection is completed, a permit will be issued.

If you have any questions, call us at 608-785-9771 or email us at [email protected].
